Affectivity, emotions and relationships at school: issues and prospects
Based on two books published more than 20 years apart, L'affectivité à l'école (2003) and L'affectivité, les émotions et les relations de l'élève à l'école : des clés pour le bien-être et la réussite (forthcoming, 2025), this conference proposes to make explicit existing, but implicit, links between various research objects: the affectivity and emotions of the student in his or her school experience and learning; the teacher.e-student relationship and affectivity in this relationship; the role of peers in the student's school experience; the student's well-being at school; and the student's success.
The aim of this conference is to provide an understanding of these research topics and the issues at stake, in order to gain a better understanding of their practical influences on the student's experience of school and learning, the teacher's professional practice and the school climate, as well as the conditions for student well-being and success at school. Rooted in education and training sciences, the conference will draw on international scientific literature from psychology and sociology.
